Happy thoughts for a week

  • Jun. 1st, 2009 at 2:31 PM

1. Jeff got here one day before he said.....I almost threw the lap top down when I saw him in the window!!! I have missed him something awful this last month.  Just sleeping beside him was the bestest ever!!!
2. Amy's Mom came to stay....Now this may not sound like a happy thought as she is alot like Jeffs Mom use to be.......but I don't have to yell as much when she's here cause Amy & Brenna keep the house cleaner & get shit done the first time I ask LOL. So in the long run it is a Happy Thought!
3. Going out for lunch w/ Tara & Q....That's the youngest daughter & her son, I can never remember which # grandson he is...There is just to many of them. We brought him home with us for awhile & got to play with him, feed him sugar, & then sent him home to his mom....
4.  Visiting with some friends of Jeffs & just spending time with him. Haven't seen Danny & his wife Nancy in years so it was nice seeing them.
5. Finally got to see my nephews play in their band.....VERY good..Tyler is the lead singer, Jason writes the songs, & some friends of theirs play drums, violen (fiddel), & the key board......They are getting some of their songs produced this summer & were the opening act for a couple of big name counrty wester stars this winter......Must of got those great voices from their mom cause none of us can carry a tune in a bucket!!!!
6. Sat night at a hotel with my hunny......nuf said!
7. The celebration of life we had for Amy's brother Joe....he died in Jan & they wanted to wait till Jeff could be here for it....Was a good time, BBQ, tons of food, everyone remembering Joe....He loved it, A party & all for him!!!!
8. Amy's mom is gone to her sisters now & it still only took me 3 hours to clean the kitchen. Made Amy bring everything in, Brenna put it all away & I did the rest.

Not so Happy thoughts.
Gus hurt his lag last night, but seems better today.
jeff left this morn to head back to AZ.    :-(  & it will be a month before I get to see him again.

I miss everyone at home but am real busy here....3 days a week in a great book store in tacoma, all my week ends are filled up with events to read at....The pugs love the room to run & the weather, OK so do I, not to hot & not to cold right now LOL.

Writer's Block: Wild Life

How long could you survive on your own in the wild?

View 500 Answers

Having grown up on a homestead in Alaska, hunting, fishing, canning, ect. for all our food...tanning, sewing, & making all our own stuff to make it thru the winter....I think I'd last for quite awhile. We had to learn how to make bow's & arrows out of what we had on hand, snares the same way, learn to make fire without matches..Dad was a bit of a survivalist!
I have lived in the city for a long time now, but some things you never really forget, you just get a bit rusty!

Almost ready to go

  • Apr. 21st, 2009 at 7:17 PM

Well it's been a busy month!! Packing & making sure I have everything I need, going to b-day party for grand kid, talking to my Mom (first time in years), baseball games for 2 grand kids & more packing.

The talking to my Mom part was, humm, interesting, I did what I usually do. Answered her question politely then tried to make my getaway, she just kept talking to me....nicely! Like she really wanted to know about my life....no negative reaction when I told her I read tarot cards & palms. No freaking out when I said I had my Pagan friends light candles for Kandi (little sister)  when she was sick. She even said thanks! We were not only nice to each other but I think friendly! Not once did I feel cornered or like I was being attacked, which has been the norm for me with her & Kandi for years. When she was ready to go she asked for a hug, I said OK, then she said she missed me.....at this point in my life my Mom doesn't really know me, but I told her if she wants I'll be spending the summer in Washington I would be willing to spend some time with her & get to know her again...She seemed so sad & lost, I felt sorry for her. I'm not sure were this will go. But at this point in my life & after everything that has gone on with my "family" there is no way for her to hurt me, so really what does it cost me to give her what she seems to need right now?

The b-day party was great... lots of friends...lots of kids...lots of food...lots of cake....fun was had by all. Mikey seemed to have a great time & so did Jo.
The b-ball game was super. Landon was awesome!!!! Jeff & I had a super time watching his game & I got some great photos! He got some great hits & ran the bases too!!! Playing with Maddi was toooo fun too. Craig pitched for the first time on his game & did a great job!!! He's a great first baseman too!!!! I, at one point screamed in Chris's ear " Yeah Craig"..... Good friend she didn't get mad at all!  I think we'll get to go to at least one more game before I go!!  OK for those of you who don't know Landon is the 2nd Grandson....Craig is oldest grandson....Maddi is youngest granddaughter!   Oh yeah Carter is Teri's (middle daughter) youngest son, & he got there 1/2 through Craig's game. Made Jeff play with him in an empty field....Poor Jeff by the time the boys are done with him he can hardly walk....

I'm off to Sedona 2moro for a card reading party! Then home on Fri morn for more packing so I can be ready to leave for Washington on Wed. next week. Talk about busy!!!!
I love my life!

WOW Company's Gone

  • Feb. 26th, 2009 at 6:55 PM

The last 2 weeks have been sooooo busy. I love having my friends here for Faire, but boy have I been busy for the last 2 weeks. First was opening weekend, always busy in itself. Then on that Wed my sis Shiera came in from Oregon, the next day 6 of my friends from Washington got here. Lee & Gina with their Pug Delihla stayed at a hotel, Kat & Nicole stayed at the house till friday, Lori & Scott also stayed here. talk about a full house. I have a small house verrrry small but we made it work. I havent been up to Wash. for more than a week in 2 years so there was tons of catching up to do. On Friday we headed over to Will & Dianes house for the faire weekend. Again with the full house. Having camped with everyone in much worse conditions a crowded house is so not an issue LOL. We had a blast. Jo worked for me on Sat. I had Mikey & the Pugs Lily & Gus & spent the day just hanging out with everyone....very relaxing & all in all tons of fun too. Mikey is gonna make a great renny, he loved it & was totally in tune with the whole thing. Gotta get that boy an outfit by next year!

Sunday I had to work & Jo was there with Mike & the kid. Shiera was in Chain Maille again, & the Knights did their thing. Shop, hang out, eat, you know all the fun Ren stuff, & for those of you who have never been to a Ren faire GO!!!!! The only sorta down spot was Elizabeth & Mary (old friend from Wash) both tried to be pests on Sun. But Chris, Bless her heart, had thought of that before faire, had walked a triple circle around the booth that kept them both out & away from me .....YEAH Chris!!!!!  Got back to Wills had dinner, read cards, & palms, visited, stayed up late......

Monday was more fun at faire, Shiera had met a friend of Wills & really hit it off with him & they had a date for that night....her first date in 2 years!!! Niether Mary or Elizabeth were seen that day at all, again YEAH Chris. And the Day was beautiful. Friends, Family, good food, lotsa love all around...what more could a girl want. We headed back to my house after faire, Jeff missed me, & I missed him.

Shiera didn't get home till after 6am, guess she had fun LOL.Everyone packed & I started running people to the airport. Last ones to leave was at about 5:30, which means I got home just in time to start packing for student days....

Up early on Wed. Chris went with me, She worked the other booth. Thank the Lady she was there as we were down 2 readers & very busy....Stayed at Wills 5th wheel that night, got dinner at a great place in town. Watched 'Mama Mia" & froze when the generator had to be turned off. OK Chris got real cold about 4:30 & got me up to get blankets for her, but Will got new batteries so shouldn't have that problem this weekend.  I enjoyed student day alot more than I thought I would. The older kids were great, I guess reading is alot different than working Greyhound or Birds Of Prey...The only bad note was the trash boys that were mean to Lily, but they have been taken care of, as in baned from faire even as patrons...Randolf wanted to beat them as he has fallen in love with Lily. We convinced him to let security handel it...Worked all day Thurs & got home after 5 I think.

Then had more company come in on Friday.....Just to head out to faire on Sat & Will & Dianes for the weekend again. Not so crowded this time, but I really need to schedual this shit better lol. Melody left today after a week here, & we had a nice visit. But I have to say I'm glad to have my house back & no company for awhile. Even if I head out to faire 2moro for the weekend. I love reading cards & have really missed it these lasted few years. The plams readings are going great too, I enjoy it alot & feel like I'm learning alot. None of my clients are unhappy with my readings & all seem very impressed so must be doing a good job!

So thats my crazy life in a nut shell for the last 2 weeks!!!! And it's just gonna get better as the summer gets here LOL. I can't wait.
Hope everyone else is doing good. Love ya all

Company comes

  • Feb. 11th, 2009 at 8:07 AM

Company starts showing up today!!! I am sooooo excited. I have been on a high all week OK I know it's only Wed. but still I been up since the weekend & plan on staying that way.....No drugs even. OK that's a lie, how about no extra drugs LOL....

Shiera comes in today, for those of you who don't know that's my little sister, & I haven't seen her in 2 years since she moved back to Org. silly girl it snows up there. And tomorrow the Seattle Knights start showing up Yahooooo. Only 6 this year, but all of them are my family, sisters of the heart with two brothers thrown in.....I'm just sooooooooooo excited....yeppers excited
.
I've been practicing reading palms all week too, my friends have been great about it, Chris, Patrick, & Francis on Mon. Chris is a quick study too & was really helpful while I was doing Pat & Francis.....I am fascinated by this palm reading, all the lines & bumps, I need Pat to come by the booth so I can ask Rain some Questions about his palm. Then Cynthia's family & Josh on Tue's .  I still have a long way to go, but don't feel so 'lost'.  I find new things & seem to understand more with each hand, funny how it works with me huh.

I think Elizabeth knows when I'm having a great time & can't handle it, she called & we had to go over everything again....'no you can't ride with me, stay with me, not his weekend, next weekend, any weekend. no I don't have time to go out this week. Yes you can come over, but I'll have company, remember?' Which led to her saying 'I think I'll just stay home again, if I can't be with you' very upset & snarky. I refused to let her ruin my buzz. So just told her OK get your car fixed & drive yourself. Not what she wanted to hear...Not my problem. She's still trying to get me to take care of her car issue for her, I don't think she wants to go to Chris's house, again not my prob.

Then yesterday I got Gus his training collar....you should not take such pleasure in zapping the pug.....But I can't seem to help myself. He is such a stubborn pug & this collar works like a charm. In less then 3 hours he was no longer barking at nothing & if I said 'Gus no" he'd run right back & sit next to me like such a good little boy. And that was even after I took the collar off! Next is walking nice on the leash! Moohahaha     (Chris taught me that)

In case you can't tell I really am jazzed about faire this year...I m back doing what I love, learning new things, & making $$, always a good thing. I feel like my old self again, & I haven't felt this way in a long time.

First weekend of Faire

  • Feb. 9th, 2009 at 7:45 AM

Well Faire opened this weekend, & Sat was rather slow.....less than 8000 when we usually have over 1,2000. I'm working in one of the Tarot & Palm reading booths this year as a change. I kinda like to move around ya know LOL. I started out working at the Birds of Prey show, really liked that but when they changed the main people & put in others I just could not get along with or agree with how they ran things I moved to Greyhound Guild. This year I thought what the hell I'll try the card booth. Anyway back to Sat. I did make $$ & as they ended up calling it a 'rain day" do to all the rain on Sun I go home with $225 for Sat. Not one reading on Sun as I don't thin we had eve 2000 people that day.

Sun did nothing but rain, hail, & sleet....sooo I learned a new skill... reading Palms. OK I have lots of practices to do but they tell me I'm a real quick learner & picked it up much faster than anyone else shes ever tried to teach before. I spent Sun morn. going over the palm & all the meanings, by around 1 or so Rain (that's her name) was dragging players in off the streets & having me do readings on them as practice.....Chris is gonna be my guinea pig today! And anyone else I can talk into it. The other girl in my booth made 2x as much as I did on Sat due to the fact that she did palm also.....I'm gonna get this down not only for the fact that it's fascinating but the money is goooood also. And besides I had fun. So even though it rained all Sun the day was soooo not a total loss.

The Chain Maille crew says HI ELI.....Chisty made me the coolest pair of ear rings to go with a neckless I had...those girls rock big time...all they cost was a batch of choc chip cookies...which they were gonna get anyway. They call me the 'Chocolate Goddess' & I love that LOL. So I really can't disappoint them now can I?  I never did get to see Shannon, next weekend I guess. I missed my hug from her!

Bobbie Jo is gonna read in my spot on Sat next weekend so I can play with my friends that are coming down from Washington, then back to work for me on Sun & Mon.....I'm looking forword to it I'm having a good time so far.

Holidays

  • Dec. 27th, 2008 at 11:36 AM

It's been a busy & wonderful Holiday season this year. Got most of the kids together in one shot this year & the one who did not make it (Trisha) came the next weekend with her extended family. Getting all my kids together at the same time is not ever going to happen & I have given up on that LOL. First gathering was at Cynthia's & we had a great time. Craig, Landon, Ree Ree, & Carter helped make the enchiladas. Maddy & Mikey were all over the house chasing the cats & dogs. The bigger kids went swimming before & after dinner while the adults watched & visited. Opened presents, paper flying, kids laughing, shrieking, ohhhing & ahhing. I love to see the looks on their faces when they get something they reallllly wanted.  Teri loved her new sheets (500 thread count egyptian) she hasn't had new sense he was born (he's 9). Jo got one of those digital photo frames & almost cried, shes been wanting one for pictures of Mikey.

Following weekend Trish & her family came down. Trish helped with the enchiladas. Again with the flying paper ohhs & ahhs & happy faces. They didn't stay long as they live up north & have a long drive. Besides Trish makes me nuts, so long visits are not a good thing cause I always end up wanting to hurt her. I do like spending time with the grand kids just not so much the adults.

Then comes the Family of the heart....HH has already LJ about some of that. I had a great night. I love spending time with them, they are the sisters & brothers of my soul. I thank the Goddess every day that she sent me here to meet them. I don't know what I would have done without Chris in my life, she has been such a rock for me at times. Keeps this sometime airhead from floating to far off path LOL.

I went to X-Mas eve mass with Cynthia & her family at the Catholic church, I haven't been in years & had forgot how beautiful it can be. Such a Pagan ceremony, wonder if they know that?

X-Mas day was fun, cooked breakfast for everyone at Cynthia's. New Orleans French Toast mmmm good, bacon, & eggs. I had Mikey cause poor Jo had to work. After compies told her she could have Mikeys first X-Mas off, assholes. I took him down to see her, & told any one who would listen the whole story & pointed out how none of the Jewish owners were there..... moral here...don't piss off the Nana..everone I talked to has called or e-mail the main office HA I say HA again. Jo's boss asked her today if I did that on purpose? She told him yep & that I had said if he asked to remind him that she got her training in bitchdom from me  LOL.  Anyway after we left Chompies we went back had dinner & waited for Jo. All in all it has been a great holiday season.
I have missed those of you who live far away & we don't get to see each other, may be next year.
Hope everyone had a great time too.

Common Sense

Obituary

Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.

No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentions but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a class mate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm a Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Home From New Orleans

  • Nov. 4th, 2008 at 7:24 PM

Home now & glad to be here...the trip was great as always. Walked all over the French Quarter, & the Garden District, went to 2 plantations, shopped til I dropped, ate so much good food, Eden drank enough for both of us, the hotel was toooo cool, Halloween was awesome. They had the first ever Krewe of Boo parade. got some great picts of that, then we went to the Vampire Ball, which was really a cocktail party, met lots of cool people, passed out tons of buisness cards, talked to people others couldn't see & no one got upset. Gotta love that town. LOL They want us to come to the party again next year & want me to bring my cards, I can have fun & make more shopping money, I like that....
I got offered jobs at 3 different shops reading & managing 2 bars. Wasn't even looking for work this time LOL.
Heres a Pict of Eden & I on Halloween Night

And since I couldn't drink I took a pict of Eden having one for me. This is my drink LOL. She said I enjoyed it alot....

Phoenix Pagan Gay Pride Day

  • Oct. 18th, 2008 at 5:22 PM

Just got back from the Pagan Gay Pride day.... Was great, met tons of wonderful people, read cards for hours, did a few healings, and got to spend time with Josh, always a good day.  The opening ceremony was a Tibetan  ceremony (I think), I have never seen one before, very nice, lots of chanting. Quite a few local shops had booths, saving money for NOLA so didn't buy anything, wanted to, but forced myself to behave, trust me very hard to do.

Home now & cooking dinner for Jeff & company....After working all day, just don't seem fair for some reason. I mean really shouldn't he be cooking? I think we should talk about this LOL.

Trip to Wash

  • Oct. 9th, 2008 at 7:54 PM

Was a great trip. My sister Corinne went with me, 3 pugs too, Lily, Gus & Wesley. My car looks like a pug exploded in it...must get it cleaned tomorrow . The Faire got canceled at the last minet (can't spell) due to one small minded woman who didn't want us strange people near her property. I mean really if the loacl cops were gonna donate their time, & we were generating jobs, & bringing in money to a very small & poor county what was her issue??? I did make enough money reading cards for other clients to get home (thank gods) & got to see most of my friends, meet my oldest brother, & ever visited (nicely) with my youngest, yes I know shocking ain't it.
Jay (youngest) hasn't talked to me politely since dad died (20 years), & he was the one who wanted to see Corinne &  I. To say I was skeptical is an understatement, but I went, mostly cause Corinne begged nice. Jay seems (I said seems, Chris) to have mellowed. I still don't trust the rat but we'll see how it goes. He even said he wants to met the family of my heart, can you imagine that, Jay, wanting to met all of you. We talked about the past & our memories & Mom & Dad, growing up in Alaska, & the homestead, about the family & even how Mom ran it & still tries to. He said that she still tries to tell him who he can & can't have in his life, but that meeting Corinne & talking with Bobbie Jo made him really think about all that, & how as an adult it should be about what he wants not what she wants. Kinda deep for Jay, may be there is hope for him yet.
Got to spend time with my extended family, Amy & the Knights, that was really great. I haven't been in Wash in almost 2 years so was a lot of catching up to do. Had the Pug family reuniuon, Lily was NOT happy but the puppies loved it LOL.  She was not the center of attention till they went home with Amy & Doc. Once the pups were gone she was more than happy.... Will post a pic once I get them down loaded. Phil had just got back from Tibet, & brought me back a great present...a rock from Mt Everest. I think that's one of the best presents I ever got. Althought I gotta wonder what the hell he was doing thinking of me at the top of the mountain.....
Rain the whole time we where there I kinda hate that state after Sept. & really have to remember that....Gt home late last night & was ever so glad to see the lights of Phoenix.....YAHOOO I'm home. Lots more happened but am still to tired to think straight. LOL
Hope everyone had a good week while I was gone.

Shopping

  • Sep. 5th, 2008 at 12:17 AM

Went Shopping today with Chris. OK first we went to lunch with Patrick, and had a wonderful lunch too. Went to Wildflowers, can't go wrong there. I got every thing on my list, spent a great day with a great friend, got away from the house, . Yep a good day all the way around.
The new meds are working pretty good I haven't had but 2 migraines in almost 3 weeks. I am finally getting my energy back & getting back to whats normal for me.  We walked around JoAnns, StienMart, Trader Joes, Pet Smart, & yes I'm tired but a month ago I might & I mean might have been able to do one of those.  There is one thing I'm not liking so much about the new med, but the DR says it should go away soon. My appetite seems to be missing, & the stomach rebels at to much sweet. Had Chris & I worried for awhile, although the last couple of days I have been able to eat more than half a bagel. LOL.

One of the thing we got today was material for coats for the Pugs. Lily really likes hers, Gus tried to eat his (surprise). I made a pattern (from nothing) & joy of joys it worked. The first time, no really the first time. I have never had that happen before. Kinda scares me.   I'll cut them out tomorrow & try to get them done by Sat or Sun cause I still have to make my self a couple of sleevy things. Is that a word? Any way...Oh and a coat yep that would be good Me in Wash in Oct with no coat Umm NO.
